Overview
The AppsFlyer integration helps you measure how MNTN ad impressions contribute to mobile app installs and in-app events.
Shared data
MNTN supports a two-way AppsFlyer integration, which means data can move between both platforms:
Data Flow | Data Shared | Where You'll View It |
MNTN → AppsFlyer | MNTN Impression Data | AppsFlyer Reporting |
AppsFlyer → MNTN | App Install and In-app Event Data | MNTN Reporting |
With the two-way integration, you can:
Track MNTN campaign performance in AppsFlyer.
View app installs and selected in-app events in MNTN Reporting.
Before You Begin
Make sure you have:
An active AppsFlyer account.
Access to the app you want to connect to MNTN.
Choose your setup
MNTN recommends the two-way AppsFlyer integration for the most complete app measurement setup. With two-way integration, MNTN sends impression data to AppsFlyer, and AppsFlyer sends app install and in-app event data back to MNTN.
If you run both app and website campaigns, you can use AppsFlyer and the MNTN Pixel in the same MNTN account. AppsFlyer measures app performance, and the MNTN Pixel measures website performance.
You can also use AppsFlyer as a one-way integration if you only want to send MNTN impression data to AppsFlyer. No AppsFlyer-to-MNTN configuration is required for a one-way integration.
Expand the section below to learn which steps to complete.
For a one-way setup
For a one-way setup
You'll follow a simplified version of setup:
Skip the initial In MNTN steps.
Don't create a MNTN API access key or set up the AppsFlyer integration in MNTN.
Start in AppsFlyer:
Setup OneLink.
Add MNTN as a partner.
Configure the Integration tab, but skip any fields that require a MNTN API access key.
Configure the Attribution link tab.
Finish in MNTN:
Apply the impression attribution link.
Confirm your MNTN tracking setup.
If you're tracking:
app performance only, opt out of pixel tracking in MNTN.
both app and website performance, keep pixel tracking enabled and place the MNTN Pixel on your website.
Set It Up
In MNTN
Create your MNTN API access key:
Sign in to MNTN.
From the account dropdown in the top right, select My Account.
In the left navigation panel under MY ACCOUNT, click Integrations.
Under Analytics Integrations, find AppsFlyer and click Connect.
Click + Create key.
Your MNTN API access key displays.
📝 Note: Your MNTN API access key is unique to the AppsFlyer integration, and you can only view it when it's first created. If you close the modal before copying the key, create a new key and use that key for connection.
You can create up to three keys at a time, but most accounts only need one active key. You may create an additional key if you need to reset, rotate, or re-authenticate the integration. If you already have three keys and need another one, delete an existing key before creating a new key.
Click the Copy icon.
You'll paste the MNTN API access key in AppsFlyer later.
Click Open AppsFlyer.
In AppsFlyer
Set Up OneLink:
To track MNTN campaign performance in AppsFlyer, you’ll need to create an impression attribution link using AppsFlyer's OneLink Template. This allows AppsFlyer to support CTV-to-mobile app attribution using cross-platform impression URLs.
⚠️ Warning: OneLink must be set up for your impression tag to work correctly. If OneLink is not configured, the impression tag may return a This site can’t be reached error when you test the link in a desktop browser.
Select the app you want to connect to MNTN.
Create a OneLink template.
A single OneLink template can support your app across multiple devices.
Configure the OneLink template for cross-platform attribution.
In the Cross-platform attribution section of the OneLink Template Management, click on the checkbox for cross-platform attribution. Each app can only be added to one OneLink template with cross-platform attribution enabled.
Add MNTN as a partner:
In the left navigation pane, click Collaborate > Active Integration.
Click the Marketplace tab.
Search
MNTN.In the bottom-right of the MNTN tile, click ⚙️ Integrate.
Configure the Integration tab:
Stay on the Integration tab.
Under MNTN integration, toggle Activate partner ON.
Under General settings, paste the MNTN API access key you copied from MNTN.
Under Data Sharing, enable or disable Advanced Privacy based on your custom requirements. We recommend disabling advanced privacy in order to see full attribution credit for MNTN.
Under Install attribution, toggle Install view-through attribution ON.
This allows AppsFlyer to attribute new installs and re-engaged users who viewed your ad but did not click. Since CTV ads are view-based, this setting is required for MNTN campaigns.
Under Re-engagement attribution, toggle re-engagement view-through attribution ON.
This allows AppsFlyer to credit a re-engagement when a user views a retargeting ad, does not click, and later reopens the app within the configured view-through attribution window.
Under Cross-platform:
Toggle Cross-platform equal attribution ON.
Set the attribution priority lookback to 6 hours.
This gives eligible MNTN impressions the same attribution priority as clicks during that timeframe. This setting helps AppsFlyer credit MNTN-driven app activity more accurately. If it is not turned on, some users who view your CTV ad and later take action may not be attributed to your MNTN campaign.
Under In-app event settings, paste the MNTN API access key you copied from MNTN.
Configure in-app event postbacks:
Install events are automatically sent to MNTN through the integration. Complete this section if you want AppsFlyer to send additional in-app events to MNTN.
Toggle ON In-app event postbacks.
Under In-app event postbacks window, click Lifetime.
Click + Add event for each in-app event you want to send back to MNTN to track.
Complete these fields:
mapped to partner event: Enter the event name you want to appear in MNTN reporting. Use a clear, recognizable name for cleaner reporting.
for users from: Select All Media sources, including organic from the menu.
This allows MNTN to receive all relevant events from AppsFlyer and run attribution accurately. If this setting is left on This Partner Only, MNTN will not receive the full event data needed to measure campaign performance.
including: Select Values & revenue from the menu.
Click Save Integration.
Configure the Attribution link tab:
Click the Attribution link tab.
Under Choose your attribution link type, select Use OneLink.
Under Select OneLink Template, select MNTN Template from the menu.
Don't edit the Attribution link parameters section.
Optional: If you are running MNTN Multi-Touch, you'll want to set up the Click-through attribution section. If you are running TV only, you can skip this section.
Configure your click-through lookback window. Appsflyer's default is 7 days
Under Click attribution link, click the Copy icon in the bottom right.
You'll paste this link in MNTN later.
Scroll down to View-through attribution.
Make sure the View-through lookback window is set to 24 hours.
Set the Cross-platform view-through attribution window to 72 hours.
This gives AppsFlyer 72 hours after a user views your ad to attribute a resulting app install to that impression. If this window is set too short, installs influenced by your CTV campaign may not be credited to MNTN.
Under Impression attribution link, click the Copy icon in the bottom right.
You'll paste this link in MNTN later.
Click Save Attribution link
Grant MNTN Access in the Permissions Tab:
MNTN needs access to quality check the integration and confirm everything is working correctly.

The AppsFlyer integration tile will remain in an Incomplete status until MNTN starts receiving data from AppsFlyer. After launch, the status will update to Connected once data is flowing, confirming the integration is working correctly.
Confirm your app or web tracking setup:
Choose the setup that matches how you want to measure performance:
Goal | Recommended setup |
Track app performance only | Use AppsFlyer and opt out of pixel tracking. |
Track app and website performance | Use AppsFlyer for app performance and place the MNTN Pixel on your website. |
If you’re running app and website campaigns, MNTN recommends keeping both campaign types in the same MNTN account.
You can filter most reports by conversion source to separate app performance from website performance.
