Create Custom Audiences with LiveRamp

How to create and target your custom LiveRamp audiences within the MNTN platform.

Overview

Through MNTN's integration with LiveRamp, customers can leverage their custom LiveRamp audiences within the MNTN platform, right alongside our existing 3rd party data marketplace.

This feature enables advertisers to target their custom LiveRamp audiences within the MNTN Audience Builder, right next any of their other targeting options.

Before You Begin

It is essential that your custom audiences are sent to your MNTN account only. Please make sure to always include your MNTN Account ID (found in step 1 below) when pushing audiences to MNTN (regardless of data type).

Accepted audience types

We can accept any 1st party audiences according to the instructions below.


πŸ’‘ Pro Tip: For 3rd party audiences, please reach out to your MNTN team to discuss options. All 3rd party audience segments will need to be reviewed and approved on a case by case basis.


Set It Up

In MNTN:

Grab your MNTN Account ID from the upper corner of the platform, next to your Account Name, as shown below.

In LiveRamp:

To activate a new Destination Account in LiveRamp, follow their setup guide.

Apply Custom Audiences in Campaigns

All custom LiveRamp audiences selected to pass through to the MNTN platform will be available for targeting in our Audience Builder.

You can include or exclude your LiveRamp audience while Building Your Audience with other audience segments.

  1. Open the Audience Builder while creating or editing a campaign.

  2. Click the on Interests tab.

  3. Click Custom Segments.

  4. Include or Exclude your LiveRamp custom audience within your audience.

    Optionally, use the search bar to search for desired interests.

  5. Apply the audience to your campaign.

Audience Considerations

  • Maintaining Audience Recency

    • Static audience data only lives for 30 days in our platform, and then the audience completely expires.

    • We recommend maintaining a dynamic audience list, or refreshing the data on a periodic basis (at least every 30 days, to avoid expired audiences).

  • Shared Lists

    • We cannot accept a single, shared audience list across multiple MNTN advertiser accounts. Instead, separate, individual copies of the audience will need to be pushed to each MNTN account that will be using it.

  • 1st Party versus 3rd Party Data

    • We can accept any 1st party audiences according to the instructions above.

    • For 3rd party audiences, please reach out to your MNTN team to discuss options. 3rd party data will need to be reviewed and approved on a case by case basis.

      • Please never send any 3rd party audiences to the MNTN Marketplace tile without an Account ID specified.

  • Removing Custom Audience Segments

    • If you need to remove any custom LiveRamp audience segments from your campaigns, please contact our CX Team for assistance.
