Connect Tealium

Automatically sync Tealium audiences to MNTN for targeting and exclusions.

Overview

MNTN’s Tealium integration lets you automatically sync audience segments from Tealium to MNTN, so you can use those audiences for campaign targeting and exclusions without manually uploading CSV files.

Use this integration to:

  • Replace manual CRM uploads with an automated sync.

  • Target Tealium audience segments in Performance TV campaigns.

  • Exclude existing customers or other known Tealium audiences from Prospecting campaigns.

  • Combine Tealium audiences with other MNTN audience sources.

Shared data

Tealium sends selected audience segments to MNTN through a direct integration. Once connected, MNTN syncs your Tealium audiences automatically once per day.

Before You Begin

To connect Tealium to MNTN, you need:

  • An active Tealium account

  • Admin access in Tealium

Optimize audience match rates

For best results, make sure the audience identifiers you send from Tealium to MNTN use MNTN’s supported formatting requirements.

Set It Up

Setup requires steps in both MNTN and Tealium. MNTN provides the API key used to connect the integration, and the audience connector is configured in Tealium.

In MNTN:

  1. Sign in to MNTN.

  2. From the account dropdown in the top right, click Integrations.

  3. Find Tealium and click Connect.

The Connect to Tealium modal opens.

  4. Next to Your API keys, click + Create Key.

    Your API Key displays.

  5. Click the Copy icon.

📝 Note: Your Tealium API key is unique to the Tealium integration and you can only view it when it's first created. If you close the modal before copying the key, create a new key and use that key to connect Tealium.

You can create up to three Tealium API keys at a time, but most accounts only need one active key. You may create an additional key if you need to reset, rotate, or re-authenticate the integration. If you already have three keys and need another one, delete an existing key before creating a new key.

  6. Click Done.

  7. Click Open Tealium.

MNTN redirects you to Tealium to finish setting up the connector.

In Tealium:

Tealium owns the connector experience in its platform.

For:

After you publish the connector

After you save and publish the MNTN Audience API connector in Tealium, Tealium can begin exporting your configured audience lists to MNTN.

When exporting lists, keep the total request body under 2 MiB or it will be rejected. MNTN recommends keeping the request body under 1 MiB when possible. You can export large audience lists to MNTN by splitting the data across multiple requests. Each individual request must stay under the 2 MiB limit.

After your lists are successfully exported to MNTN, they should begin populating in your MNTN account immediately. Allow up to 24 hours for the full list to sync and become ready for audience use.

The AppsFlyer integration tile will remain in an Incomplete status until MNTN starts receiving data from AppsFlyer. After launch, the status will update to Connected once data is flowing, confirming the integration is working correctly.

Manage Lists

After your Tealium audiences sync to MNTN, you can view and manage them from the CRM audience list.

To view synced Tealium audiences:

  1. In MNTN, click the Audience tab.

  2. Go to Segments > CRM.

💡Pro Tip: To filter the list, click Source in the top left and select Tealium.

    Each list shows:

    • List name

    • Source: Tealium

    • Audience type: CRM

    • Creation date

📝 Note: Tealium audiences are classified as CRM audiences in MNTN. In Retargeting campaigns, CRM audiences can only be used for exclusions, not targeting. For more information, see Source Audiences with CRM.
