Review MNTN Data in HubSpot

Learn how to find, review, and use MNTN ad exposure data in HubSpot.

Overview

After you enable HubSpot attribution in MNTN for a synced HubSpot list, MNTN sends impression data back to HubSpot for matching contacts. This helps you see which existing HubSpot contacts were exposed to MNTN ads and how those contacts engage across your CRM activity.

Before You Begin

Before reviewing MNTN data in HubSpot, make sure:

⚠️ Warning: HubSpot attribution can only match MNTN ad impressions to contacts that already exist in HubSpot. It does not create new HubSpot contacts from MNTN ad impressions.

Find MNTN Data in HubSpot

MNTN data starts populating in HubSpot the morning after HubSpot attribution is enabled for a list. MNTN retroactively populates impression data from the previous 60 days for that HubSpot contact list.

Once MNTN impression data begins syncing, matching contacts appear in the mntn_saw_ad segment in HubSpot.

To find the MNTN segment:

  1. Sign in to HubSpot.

  2. From the left navigation pane, click on the CRM icon.

  3. Select Segments (Lists).

    The Segments page opens.

  4. Stay on the Manage > All segments tabs, and open the mntn_saw_ad segment.

The mntn_saw_ad segment includes all contacts from your synced HubSpot lists who were matched to MNTN ad impressions.

If attribution is enabled for multiple HubSpot lists, HubSpot consolidates all matched contacts into the same mntn_saw_ad segment.

Review the Overview Tab

The segment’s Overview tab shows high-level details such as segment size, percentage of database, 7-day change, and individual contacts.

To view MNTN touch points on individual contact records:

  1. Open the mntn_saw_ad segment.

You'll land on the Overview tab.

  2. Click on a contact name.

  3. From the Activities tab, you'll see the contact’s activity timeline.

  4. Optionally, click on the Notes sub-tab, which will include details such as:

    • Ad type

    • Campaign name

    • Creative name

    • Impression Timestamp

Review the Performance Tab

Use the Performance tab in the mntn_saw_ad segment to review MNTN-exposed contacts at a higher level, without opening individual contact records.

The Performance tab can help you:

  • Monitor segment size over time

  • Validate that MNTN impression data is populating in HubSpot

  • Review how MNTN-exposed contacts engage across CRM touch points

  • Understand how MNTN-exposed contacts move through your customer journey

To access it:

  1. Open the mntn_saw_ad segment.

  2. Click on the Performance tab.

Within the performance tab, check out a few key reports:

  • 30-Day Engagement Reporting

The In the last 30 days... report shows how contacts in the mntn_saw_ad segment engaged over the last 30 days.

The 30-day engagement report may show actions such as website visits, form conversions, email opens, email clicks, or survey submissions, depending on the events configured in your HubSpot account.

  • Lifecycle Stage Reporting

On the Contacts breakdown and engagement report, next to Segment contacts by: click Source and change it to Lifecycle stage.

You use this view to understand how many MNTN-exposed contacts are categorized as leads, marketing qualified leads, opportunities, customers, or other lifecycle stages configured in your account. This can help you understand how MNTN ad exposure supports downstream lead and sales activity.

Create More Detailed Segments

You can create more specific HubSpot segments from the mntn_saw_ad segment by filtering contacts based on MNTN ad details stored in contact notes. This is useful when you want to view or act on contacts who saw a specific MNTN campaign or creative.

For example, you can create a segment of contacts who saw a:

  • Specific MNTN campaign

  • Specific MNTN creative

  • MNTN ad and later converted

  • MNTN ad but have not converted

  • MNTN ad and reached a specific lifecycle stage

To focus results at the campaign or creative level:

  1. From the left navigation pane, click on the CRM icon.

  2. Select Segments (Lists).

  3. In the upper-right corner, click Create segment.

  4. Choose Contacts.

  5. In the upper-right corner, click Next.

  6. Click + Add filter.

  7. Next to Viewing:, click Contacts (primary) and change it to Notes.

  8. In the Search Note properties field, search for Note body and select it.

  9. Under And associated Note has all of:, click the pencil icon.

  10. Add the MNTN campaign name, creative name, or other phrase from the MNTN note body.

  11. Click Set values.

  12. Optionally, add any additional filter groups needed by clicking + Add filter group.

Ways to Use MNTN Data in HubSpot

Once MNTN data is available in HubSpot, you can use it to better understand how Connected TV exposure supports the rest of your marketing and sales activity.

Halo Effect Reporting

Use MNTN impression data to identify contacts who saw a MNTN ad and later converted through another channel, such as paid search, paid social, or your website.

This can help your team evaluate MNTN’s influence beyond last-touch attribution.

Automated Nurture Workflows

Create a segment of contacts who saw a MNTN ad but have not yet converted, then enroll those contacts into an email nurture workflow.

This helps turn MNTN ad exposure into a CRM trigger for follow-up.

Lead Progression Analysis

Identify contacts who were exposed to MNTN ads and later completed a lower-funnel action, such as booking a demo, setting an appointment, completing a phone call, or reaching another lead status in HubSpot.

This can help your team understand whether MNTN exposure is supporting lead progression.

Sales Follow-Up

Use MNTN touchpoint notes to give sales teams more context before outreach.

For example, a sales rep can see whether a contact recently viewed a MNTN ad and use that information to guide timely follow-up.
