Overview
BigQuery is Google Cloud’s data warehouse. It lets you store large datasets and use SQL to analyze them.
MNTN doesn’t offer a direct BigQuery integration. You can get data into BigQuery through Google Analytics or by manually uploading reports exported from MNTN.
How data moves
What Syncs | Direction | Available In |
MNTN-attributed data available in Google Analytics | MNTN → Google Analytics → BigQuery | BigQuery for SQL analysis and custom reporting |
Reporting data manually exported from MNTN | MNTN → BigQuery | BigQuery for SQL analysis and custom reporting |
Why it matters
Why it matters
Adding MNTN data to BigQuery lets you analyze campaign performance alongside other marketing and business data. You can run custom SQL queries, build reports, and use the data in dashboards with tools like Looker and Tableau.
Set It Up
Choose one of two paths:
Google Analytics: Connect MNTN to Google Analytics, then transfer Google Analytics reporting data into BigQuery. This is MNTN’s recommended approach for analyzing attributed performance across channels.
Manual upload: Export a report from MNTN, then load the file into BigQuery for analysis.
Option 1: Send data to BigQuery through Google Analytics
MNTN recommends this path because it deduplicates attributed performance across channels, giving you a clearer view of MNTN’s contribution to your results.
Make sure your MNTN Pixel is installed and your MNTN account is connected to Google Analytics.
Follow Google’s instructions to load Google Analytics 4 reporting data into BigQuery.
Once the transfer completes, check that the MNTN-attributed data you need is available in BigQuery.
Option 2: Manually upload MNTN reporting data
Use this path when you want to work with a report exported from MNTN.
Sign in to your MNTN account.
Click the REPORTING tab.
From the left navigation pane, go to the report you want to export data from.
Find the table you want to export and click the Download icon in the upper right.
Choose whether to Download as CSV or Download as JSON.
Follow Google’s instructions to batch load the exported file into BigQuery.
Once the file is loaded, you can query the data to analyze campaign performance.
Quick Answers
Why might my BigQuery results differ from MNTN reporting?
Why might my BigQuery results differ from MNTN reporting?
Results may differ depending on the data source and how you query and model the data in BigQuery. MNTN doesn’t control these configurations and can’t validate or troubleshoot reporting discrepancies that originate in BigQuery.
